Pooja Thakkarar

Pooja Thakkar is a registered physiotherapist, having graduated from RGUHS in 2011, and furthering her education with a master’s degree in neuroscience completed in 2016. She has accrued substantial experience in the field, spending seven years practicing as a physiotherapist in India before extending her practice to Canada, where she has worked for a year and a half. Pooja’s expertise lies in neuro rehabilitation, as well as treating muscular and sports-related injuries. She has also expanded her skill set by undertaking continuous education courses in pelvic health and vestibular rehabilitation. Pooja strongly believes in the importance of active patient involvement and manual therapy as critical components of effective treatment, striving to deliver patient-centered care. In addition to her extensive training and experience, Pooja is also certified in acupuncture and dry needling, techniques that further enhance her ability to treat a diverse range of physiotherapy needs. Her comprehensive approach ensures that she is equipped to address her patients’ individual concerns with tailored therapeutic interventions.

  • Dry Needling – Certified in dry needling, which involves inserting needles without medication into areas of the muscle known as trigger points to relieve pain and improve range of motion.
